Trooper's Tree Test
6th Jan, Christon Bank, 10am
Not so easy to identify trees at this time of year but these were all close to each other in a wood. Each tree has a texture and pattern to its bark that gives a good identification when there's no leaves on the tree. Trooper doesn't need to identify them by site, he just sniffs them: Every last one of them if he gets the chance!
There's an extra clue for "D"
A
B
C
D
E
OK:
A = Beech, B = Silver Birch, C = Scots Pine, D = Oak, E = Telephone Pole (they're all the same to Trooper! ;-)
