after the rain...

 30th June 2022, Boulmer to Howick, 9am

A beautiful morning for a run.

The air was rich with perfume from various wild flowers but the most striking was this patch of roses.

29th June 2022, Felton, 12noon

After a night of rain there was a warm, humidity to the day.  They smell of nature after rain deserves a name and they call it "petrichor".

 28th June 2022, Bamburgh, 10am

Repainting the phone box.

It remains to be seen if this is undercoat or if it's being painted pink...

28th June 2022, Low Newton, 8pm

At the Ship Inn for a folk session.  beautiful evening light.

after the solstice...

27th June 2022, Buston, 9am

There is joy in finding photographs in the big view and the small details.

26th June 2022, Low Newton By The Sea, 3pm

Here to listen to some music, drink some beer and sing a couple of songs.

 24th June 2022, Buston, 8am

An early run along nice firm sand.  It's where my feet love to be

Wednesday 22 June 2022

boat-walker

 22nd June 22, Alnmouth, 8pm

After a dull cloudy solstice, today was much nicer.

I'll call this "taking the boat for a walk"

I was too early for sunset but it was beautiful and the fierceness of the day's sun had receded to a gentle light.

Colours showing nicely on this wee swallow.

nearly solstice

Nearly solstice sunset walkies

do not touch

 17th June, Howick, 9am

There was a heatwave widely predicted for today but in Northumberland it was cool and grey (which meant I could have a lovely long run).

 18th June, Longhorsley, 8am

I love the wild flowers on the managed areas of the coast but it’s nice to find orchids inland in a farmer’s grassy field.

Curlews are nesting hereabouts too and yellowhammers are singing from the hedges.

Sometimes all nature needs is to be left alone.

Thursday 16 June 2022

they seek him here and there...

 16th June 2022, Low Newton, 11am

Today’s guided walk clients were quite into their wild flowers and birds and the meadows, dunes, ponds and coast didn’t let us down.

This is Burnet Rose which has a cute scientific name - Rosa pimpinellifolia

A tiny but formidably spiky wee guy, this one had a nice splash of pink across its petals.

Three blue sky days

15th June 2022, Bamburgh, 4pm

A beautiful day up in the castle to photograph a wedding

13th June 2022, Warkworth, 4pm

Definitely worth the effort just for the colour of the sea.

10th June 2022, Warkworth, 4pm

I was glad of the breeze til I turned round and was sand-blasted. Not complaining though...

Thursday 9 June 2022

double visiting

 9th June 2022, Newton Point, 10am

We walked through the wild flowers on today's guided walk and it was so nice I came back and sat and had my lunch.

green belt?

 2nd June 2022, Denwick, 9am

A nice place to run (once you navigate the building sites of the many new houses in Alnwick)
