obstacles

 27th Feb 2022, Felton, 9am

The path through the woods is partly blocked by fallen trees but we don't mind an obstacle course.

too early?

 25th Feb 22, Newton Point, 7am

Just after sunrise and the beaches looked beautiful but there was a chilly wind (which died away later in the morning)

mirage

 24th Feb 22, Buston, 8am

This "floating island" mirage effect is supposedly very rare and happens when the air is very cold. I've seen it a few times at Coquet Island over the years but then I do tend to wander on beaches in freezing cold weather more than most people I suppose!

amiable distractions

 11th Feb 22, Buston, 9am

Every walk brings an adventure...

Sometimes something catches my eye.

Even on a blue sky, blue sea morning it can be small-scale undramatic things that grab my attention.

Yesterday's brisk winds had left pebbles sitting pretty on their own pedestals of sand. I could've spent quite a while lying on the beach lost in the process of finding photographs in among the thousands of stones spread along the beach.

This is what I call "mindful photography". By filling your head with only the notion of seeing photographs in the immediate environment around you, the rest of the world and its trials and tribulations are forgotten for a while.
