7th January 2022, Alnmouth, 8am
A minute or two before sunrise and this cloud was lit up beautifully from below the horizon.
It glowed vividly as if announcing the imminent arrival of the sun.
As dawn broke, the cloud, its moment of glory having passed, faded to grey.
Sunrise didn't look that promising from my bedroom window but it was worth the trip to the beach.
