not working

30th June 2020, Budle Bay, 8am

I never thought I would be off work for 3 months without being very ill.

But nothing is normal anymore.

I had two work related meetings up the coast  this morning so I took the opportunity to visit a favourite spot.

I loved being back here and Daisy loved it too.

walking with an umbrella

29th June 2020, Warkworth, 8am

The inky dark sky of last night's storm is at last passing over the sea and far away.

Memories already fade of trudging through grey puddles with the colourless world hidden from view as we walk with our heads bowed under our hoods.

Here, back on the beach (which for so long was a forbidden no-man's-land) the warm sun peeks out from the clouds giving us hope of warm weather returning.

But now and then a few drops of rain are carried on a distant wind from the west and they remind us that there will always be a chance of rain.

This is surely just as it has always been.
And so life goes on...

Thanks our NHSheroes - You are our umbrella for the rainy days of life

A coaly heart

breezy

28th June 2020, Embleton Bay, 10am

Very breezy - it was a bit like being sandblasted sometimes...

Back in the car and the spaniels were watching the biscuits from the back of the car.

burning mist

26th June 2020, Buston, 6:30am

Up early at is was such a beautiful sunny morning.

After just 2 miles to the coast it was misty and cool. - Perfect weather for a photographer as it was burning off all the time so I knew there would be interesting views to be had...

popular

25th June 2020, Alnmouth, 7:30am

Alnmouth isn't my favourite beach but it's close to where I live.

It's one of the busiest beaches in Northumberland because of its large car-park right by the beach, convenient conveniences and a smattering of OK pubs.

 They're all closed just now.

favourites

23rd June 2020, Dunstanburgh, 7:30am

So good to be back here.  Daisy was transformed - she loves this walk as she gets to sit in all her favourite places.

The barley seems to be coming along nicely...

slowly through the flowers

22nd June 2020, Buston, 7am

It's always a delight to come across orchids in the dunes.  This one is a pyramidal orchid.

Daisy has a reduced top speed these days.  She's getting older and her paw still hurts.  Also today it was quite hot and she doesn't like to rush in the heat.  She has two speeds dead slow and stop.  It's not a bad approach to walking on the beach really...

22nd June 2020, Shilbottle, 9pm

Thanks Mr Farmer for planting these wild flowers down the edge of your field.  They looked amazing against the sunset sky.

waiting

21st June 2020, at home, 8am

Meet my furry family
They're waiting for me
Watching my every move.
I'm waiting for the rain to stop
And for someone to walk with

21st June 2020, Hauxley, 5pm

Showery weather up and down the beach.  We managed to dodge the worst of the showers but got wet in the sea!
