enjoying the dark

3rd December 2014, Embleton Bay, 4:30pm

We're getting used to the dark walks me and Daisy and, after a cold, bright day, we found the beach quiet and calm with the moon shining on the sea. The last colour was still in the sky.

I kept my torch off and let my eyes adjust to the dark. Soon the moon's shadows became apparent across the sand and the silver light of the moon was beautiful.

A winter walk by moonlight
I’d rather walk by starlight
When the sun is yet to rise
When nothing stirs and all is still
But distant night-time cries
Or wander here by moonlight
When the sun has newly set
Til eyes adjust to gathering dark
No moonlight shadows yet
Winter means the dark will fall
When usually it’s day
We rush to switch on lamps and lights
To keep the dark at bay
But venture out, don’t be afraid
To feel the dark embrace
Wide-eyed seek the shadows out
Let senses set the pace.
Familiar landscapes set anew
Lie just beyond your door
Sights and sounds are waiting let
Your inner child explore

you-wee because said...

Great moonlight captures, Andy!

Yesterday late afternoon, right after work, I took some photographs as well of our illuminated company Christmas tree standing in front of the company building. With the traces of the head- and backlights of the passing cars.

Have a great weekend, we are waiting desperately for some "traces of sunlight"...
...since two weeks the sky is covered with that persistant high fog layer!
