PhotoDay

25th June 2013, Craster and Newton Point 9-4

My first ever PhotoDay (joining my PhotoTrails and PhotoWorkshops) meant a whole day taking photographs at two different locations linked by a coffee break at the Ship Inn in Low Newton and lunch in the fab Jolly Fisherman in Craster. Not a bad way to spend a day... We started at Craster harbour. This is a fairly standard shot from the lobster pots across the harbour but trying to keep the composition as simple as possible...

Then a couple of "different" shots...

...and a study of the dramatic clouds above Dunstanburgh Castle.

90 degrees to the Right and the view out over the very calm sea couldn't be more different.

And so to the flower meadows of Newton Point. They are so amazing at the moment that it was nice to re-visit. First an obvious shot...

...and then something different again.

Looking down, not up

18th June 2013, Embleton Bay, 9am

Today's PhotoTrail was in conjunction with The Art Tour and the idea was to talk about photographing the sky to go with my "Northumbrian Skies" exhibition. In fact I was drawn to the wild flowers of Newton Point instead...

Roses are Red...

Daisy - The Dog on The Grassy Knoll

17th June 2013, Embleton Bay, 9am

In amongst the grasses on the shore...

...there are wild roses. This year, more than I've noticed before, they have a beautiful perfume which is carrying for a few yards in the warm air...

...but most people walk along the beach and miss them.  Which is a shame.

Evening Stroll

13th June 2013, Embleton Bay, 10pm

We're getting close to the longest day and it was too nice a night to flop in front of the TV. It was a lovely quiet atmosphere...

Daisy enjoyed the view too.  She can sit like this for hours scanning the horizon.

14th June 2013, Dunstanburgh, 8am

Bright this morning with a forecast of rain this afternoon so we made the most of the weather.

A fine morning's photography with Wendy and Susan's PhotoTrail.

Back in the Sun

I spent the weekend in my gallery while the sun shone outside but finally I got a bit of sunny, warm time with Daisy on the beach this morning.
