missed us

 15th December 2022, Warkworth, 10am

There was still ice on the beach and wintry showers passed by over the sea.  Mostly they missed us.

sunrise or bust

 14th December 2022, Embleton Bay, 8:30am

Up and away after defrosting the car in the hope of a sunrise.

When I got there a passing shower obliterated the view to the south east but I had a feeling it might be worth waiting around to see what happened after the shower drifted off.

rarity

13th December 2022, Longhorsley, 8am

Glowing in the first light of the sun

13th December 2022, Warkworth, 3pm

Short days are annoying in many ways but they can be spectacular in good weather.

Today was hard frozen sand at -3C with no wind.

The sea rolls on just the same...

...but there were icicles at the beach which is quite unusual.

It was 26C here in the summer.

A pretty enough photo except that this is Warkworth castle which I have rarely if ever photographed.  And it's sunset which is rare too.

frosty fun

 12th December 2022, Longhorsley, 8am

Our spell of dry but very cold weather continues.  -2C this morning.

There were reports of people stranded on the M25 for hours due to London snow.

Not so bad here.

quietly frozen

 8th Dedember 2022, Buston, 8am

The beach was frozen

The air was calm and cold

But there was a lot going on with the sea

(un)muted

 7th December 2022, Embleton bay, 9am

Muted wintery colours

7th December 2022, Shilbottle, 3pm

After the muted colours of this morning, this was the colourful sunset from the road home at 3pm.

Not long til midwinter solstice now.

northerly showers

6th December 2022, Bamburgh, 10am

Changeable weather with showers blasting in from the North.

It meant wet clothes but in between the light was beautiful

6th December 2022, Rothbury, 3pm

Inland colours towards sunset
