quiet at both ends of the day
7th September 2018, Howick Bay, 4pm
No-one here just me and the birds and the dog.
A cyclist passed by, then we were alone again.
9th September 2018, Beadnell Bay, 6:30am
First sunrise run of the season with Daisy at my heels...

Longstone
6th September 2018, Longstone Lighthouse, 12 noon
Tomorrow is the 180th anniversary of the wreck of the Forfarshire that saw Grace Darling become Northumberland's No. 1 heroine.
I went out on a bit of a pilgrimage to the lighthouse and Grace's bedroom.
More on why I went in due course.

just an octopus
5th September 2018, Embleton Bay, 7:30am
Nice to see the sun again. The sky was perfectly reflected in the Skaith
5th September 2018, Embleton Bay, 10am
Back to the same spot a couple of hours later for a Wednesday PhotoWalk
An unusual octopus kite was flying around.
Eventually the kite-flyer had a seat in the dunes while his multi-limbed friend kept a beady eye on him from above.

subdued
3rd September 2018, Embleton Bay, 8am
A suitably subdued morning for a community in mourning for the untimely loss of a young man who was at the heart of so much life in Embleton. RIP Adam Moody
A bit grey, a bit rainy. It’s all the same to the sea.

up with the bats and owls
1st September 2018, Newton Point then home, 6pm
No rush today so we tarried a while out on the point to watch the sky change from afternoon to evening.
Back home and we were still outside at 8:30pm with bats flying round the house and the sounds of tawny owls and distant harvesting for company.

summer into autumn
31st August 2018, Embleton Bay, 7:30am
A late night out enjoying music last night but the draw of a sunny, quiet beach was enough too get me out of bed. I can sleep later...
1st September 2018, Long Nanny, 7:30am
Sea rocket in full flower on this first day of autumn.
