Breezy

9th August 2017, Howick, 4pm

A gorgeous afternoon after a dodgy wintery morning.  There was a stiff N wind which had whipped the sea into dramatic surf.

9th August 2017, Beadnell Bay, 6pm

Dinner was delayed as I fancied a run on the beach.  It was beautifully warm without being too hot.  I think 18 degC is my ideal temperature!

Peaceful

8th August 2017 Embleton Bay 7am

A quiet peaceful stroll on a calm morning.

Monday, 7 August 2017

angles of sky

7th August 2017, Embleton Bay, 6:30am

Over the castle was blue sky but just a bit north it was early enough that there was still golden light in the clouds

terns return

6th August 2017, Beadnell Bay, 7am

The tern site is gone for the season.  These beautiful birds have headed back out to sea to begin their extraordinary journey all the way to S Africa or even the antarctic before returning here next spring.

For us who remain, it means the beach is open for a long walk up and down the sand...

first things first

2nd August 2017, Embleton Bay, 7:30am

It was nice to see fine weather for this morning's PhotoWalk with 6 nice people booked on. That's later though. Now me and Daisy hit the beach...

3rd August 2017, Embleton Bay, 8am

Showery weather expected today.  The sky would appear to confirm that

3rd August 2017, Newton Point, 4pm

The hay meadow is not as bright and colourful as previous years.  I'm sure it's weather dependent.  Still a nice path to take though...

It was warm enough that a few folk were sunning themselves on the beach

4th August 2017, Embleton Bay, 8am

The beach is often quieter on a Friday when it's changeover day and the visitors are packing to go home.

Emily found a thing

1st August 2017, Newton Point, 4pm

I wonder what story this knitted bride has to tell of how she came to be in the sea... where's Bagpuss when you need him?

Double Trouble

31st July 2017, Newton Point, 4pm

Daisy's sister Bess has come to stay for the night.  They look grand together and have similar temperaments so not too bad to look after both of them on this afternoon's walk...

1st August 2017, Dunstanburgh, 8am

After a quiet, uneventful night we were back out together.  Bessie often walks here so it was familiar ground.
