Round The Lake

16th March11, Bamburgh Castle, 9-12

Day 3 of Pete's 3 day training course and another atmospheric day.

We circumnavigated Bamburgh Castle including an interesting visit to the beautiful lake hidden amongst the dunes S of the castle.

On a still, diffuse-lit day like this I'm drawn to macro details and geometric shapes such as reflections...

Day 2 of Pete's training course and what a gorgeous atmospheric day.

I was challenged in the village shop this morning that the day was too horrible for photos so I went out to the car park and took a quick snap of misty trees and hedges...

Later, Pete and I had a wander round the misty churchyard in Embleton before the rain came on and we headed indoors...

Big Blue Sky

Wait for a bit of cloud shadow to avoid throwing our shadows on the subject...

Get up close and use a different angle...

Mess about in PS to make it look miserable...!

bright and breezy

11th March11, Embleton Bay, 8am

Ian & Anne's training course was cancelled due to bad weather at the tail end of 2010 so it was great to introduce them to Northumberland on such a bright day.

The wind whipped across the sand which was invigorating but a bit dangerous for the cameras. Plenty of folk out and about enjoying the blast.

We waited ages for a nice wave to break between the castle and our lenses..

Obsession

10th March11, Newton Links, 8am

Daisy's become obsessed with a hole she's digging in our flower bed and this morning she insisted on being up and out at 06:30 to go and see her hole.

So it was off to the beach for a sea-bath for those digging paws and a strong cold offshore wind met us on a fine bright morning.

Back Home again
