from the hills to the sea

 14th Feb 26, Rothbury, 9am

The first blue sky day for a long time.

Unfortunately I was in a black and white mood...

14th Feb 26, Warkworth, 4pm

High cloud has drifted over us now.

A prelude to the snow and rain

That has been foretold.

In winter, we can only be grateful

For a briefly bright respite

And bid farewell to the fading blue

As it dissipates over the horizon

21st Feb 25, Warkworth

Recent storms have revealed a layer of purple sand.  Animal, vegetable or mineral?

22nd Feb 26, Simonside,

Ruby's first unassisted walk up Simonside (last time she was carried part of the way)

23rd Feb 26, Hauxley

25th Feb 26, at home

Across the rooftops
and through the wires
I can see a line of sea
and, today,
the sunrise.

25th Feb 26, Bamburgh Castle

Patterns in the mosses and lichens of the old walls.

27th Feb 26, Bamburgh Castle

Just a beautiful morning but then a fulmar passed by...

flotsam

 7th Feb 26, Warkworth, 9am

The grey weather continues.  We've had weeks of persistent easterly winds which I have never known here before.

The amount of litter on the beach is shocking but some of it is photogenic.

after the rainy season

 1st Feb 26, Simonside, 9am

A misty start but brightened up a bit.

After several weeks of rainy days this was like spring

 1st Feb 26, Alnmouth, 3pm

A very pleasant end to the day.  After so many gloomy days, you could finally see the later sunset.
