There's no better time of year to visit Cragside.  It's easy to find a quiet spot surrounded by autumn colours and falling leaves.

Around Jesmond Dene very early on a beautiful autumn morning.

Later the same day we joined the National Trust and headed a couple of miles down the road to Cragside.

It was still a beautiful day and these are my favourite Cragside photos from many visits.

Beautiful and humbling

The first proper view of aurora for me..  the colours were visible to the naked eye.  the red is rare and was extraordinarily vivid.  

A very special time spent in the company of nature.

Three degrees this morning and the sunrise was lost to the low cloud on the horizon.

Geese were flying here and there as showers rolled in from the sea on a chilly breeze

It was good to be back after a few days in Lake District and then a nasty stomach bug that had laid me low.
