Down by the sea under beautiful light.

early sunrise

 27th Oct 24, Buston, 7am GMT

Clocks went back last night but not my body clock!

Sunrise is now and hour earlier but 7am but it still felt like 8am.

woodland walkies

 26th October 24, Morpeth, 8am

A lovely morning for a dog walk.

back again

 25th Oct 24, Cragside, 11am

There's no better time of year to visit Cragside.  It's easy to find a quiet spot surrounded by autumn colours and falling leaves.

Chasing Armstrong

 24th Oct 24, Jesmond Dene, 7am

Around Jesmond Dene very early on a beautiful autumn morning.

Later the same day we joined the National Trust and headed a couple of miles down the road to Cragside.

It was still a beautiful day and these are my favourite Cragside photos from many visits.

calmness

 22nd October 2024. Embleton Bay, 5:30pm

Stopping by on my way past.

As the light fades
The calmness of evening
Softly enfolds the world
Until the morning comes

here and there

 18th Oct 24, Warkworth, 7:30am

Waiting for the sunrise in peaceful chilly calm.

...and here she comes

Meanwhile out to the west the big full moon was heading to the horizon.

patterns and pools

 17th Oct 24, Warkworth, 9am

Patterns, ripples and pools in the low tide sand

lace-like

 12th October 24, Warkworth, 10am

The sea like the lace of a Galway Shawl (thanks Gracie for the metaphor!)

finally I see the light

 10th November 24, Lucker, 9pm

Beautiful and humbling

The first proper view of aurora for me..  the colours were visible to the naked eye.  the red is rare and was extraordinarily vivid.

A very special time spent in the company of nature.

11th October 24, Shilbottle, 7:30am

From last night's aurora to a fine sunrise.  We live in a beautiful world.

lost in action

 10th October 2024, Buston, 7:30am

Three degrees this morning and the sunrise was lost to the low cloud on the horizon.

Geese were flying here and there as showers rolled in from the sea on a chilly breeze

It was good to be back after a few days in Lake District and then a nasty stomach bug that had laid me low.

turn right for sunrise

 4th Oct 24, Shilbottle, 7am

Glad I chose the fields for my walk this morning

time to go

3rd October 24, Warkworth, 4pm

Making the most of a sunny autumn day.

Time for a wander and a snooze in the dunes

Time to leave the beach to become the sea bed for a while as the high spring tide rolls in. Meanwhile the long shadows beckon me home…
