Back down to sea level and nearly an hour too late for sunrise but there was still plenty of colour in the sky as the sun's arrival had been delayed by cloud at the horizon. No matter how beautiful the sunrise, a photograph needs some sort of foreground to add story and context. Here the silhouetted ferns and the waves provide two different settings for the colours of the sky.
The gentle texture of the light on the sea is also an important element to me in these two photos.
