light scattering

28th October 2021, Embleton Bay, 11am

I don't know how we managed to dodge the showers and heavier rain this morning but we did, and the sun even made a brief, spectacular appearance scattering silver light over the sea.

finding photos

 27th October 2021, Embleton Bay, 10am

Today's PhotoTrail was on a damp, grey unpromising day.

All the more reason to hunt down some interesting photographs...

how many dawns

 25th October 2021, Warkworth, 7:30am

Two different views of sunrise just by turning the camera around.

Me and Daisy have seen a lot of sunrises just the tow of us.  I wonder how many?

heart of the sunrise

 22nd October 2021, Alnmouth, 8am

If I'd been a couple of miles south the sunrise would have peeked out from the big black cloud.

As it was it wasn't a bad place to be.

The first image is a zoomed in view of the heart of the sunrise.

birthday poses

 20th October 2021, Warkworth, 8am

A nice morning for a walk on Henry's 3rd birthday.

He's been getting posing lessons from Daisy and is definitely getting better!

after the rain.

 19th October 2021, Warkworth, 12 noon

It was a damp morning but I quite fancied a run in the rain.  By the time I was ready, the weather had dried up.

After the rain

The beach looks the same

But close up down there

Footprints are few

Replaced by countless craters

From unseen raindrops hitting sand

simply the best

 17th October 2021, Budle Bay, 4pm

Northumberland at its peaceful and beautiful best.

reluctant road

 15th October 2021, Buston, 7:30am

According to FB I was here a year ago today, but Daisy has refused to walk down bumpy road since then.

I was pleased that she trotted down very happily this morning having forgotten whatever was troubling her...

I wanted to head straight down to the beach but Daisy insisted on going up to Cuthbert's cross first.

Once she'd seen the view from up there, she was content to head down onto the sand.

The post-sunset sky was beautiful so it was nice to be able to include the sky twice in the same composition.

big yawn

 13th October 2021, Howick shore, 8am

It's normally just me and Daisy hereabouts but today the spaniels came too.

warm again

 8th October 2021, Warkworth, 9am

Very warm today - not at all like October.

The times they are a-changing.

now what?

7th October 2021, Embleton Bay, 7:30am

Always a joy to be back here.

After changeable October weather from chilly to windy and very rainy, today was unseasonably warm

a few autumn days

4th October 2021, Warkworth, 4pm

We walked a long way up the beach beside the waves and under bright skies but what caught my eye was this inland view of the afternoon sky through the autumnal seed heads.

3rd October 2021, Warkworth, 8am

First 4C frost warning in the car this morning but it was beautiful on the beach.

A piece of broken pottery reminded me of a yacht racing across the sand trailing a shadowy plume of spray...

1st October 2021, Warkworth, 8am

There was a choice between the cloud reflections or the texture of the waves...
