Last night's rain had headed off out to the east and left behind a fine, calm morning that turned into a sunny day by the time we headed for home.
I saw these two and my thought for today is that limpets must reckon they are exempt from the laws of gravity. They adhere to rocks whatever way up they happen to be so gravity doesn't matter to them. Except they are wrong because gravity causes the tides that they depend on for life.
So it is for us all. We think we're so clever that nature has no effect on our busy sophisticated lives until an earthquake, flood or pandemic changes everything and makes us realise how fragile that fancy lifestyle is.
