opportunity knocks

 28th September 2020, Longhorsley, 7am

Daisy just wanted a short walk this morning and we wandered round the village under a beautiful sunrise sky.

28th September 2020, Buston, 9am

While Daisy rested I took the opportunity to have a blast down to the beach.  I'm glad I did.  It was a beautiful morning.

After a while, I had to turn for home back uphill on the bridleway...

plant a tree

 27th September, Hauxley, 6pm

Beautiful light at Hauxley for an evening walk.

Sandstone patterns

This apple tree was planted as part of the "plant a tree in 73" campaign

Poor Daisy was nursing another injury - this time a nasty bite to her neck - so she was sleeping at home.

delicious

24th September 2020, Embleton Bay, 10am

It's always good to be back in my favourite place on a beautiful morning (apart from the rain showers).

These roseships in the rain look good enough to eat...

fascinating geology

 23rd September 2020, Cocklawburn, 8am

A very wet walk with the furry family.

23rd September 2020, Cocklawburn, 3pm

Fantastic sedimentary geology at Cocklawburn beach.

Here are some patterns of sandstone layers and fossilised worm burrows (I think)

things to see

 18th September 2020, Longhorsley, 7am

Another beautiful autumnal morning.

Lots of things to photograph this morning.

oh, my knees

 17th September 2020, Longhorsley, 7am

I was down among the dewy grass and the wildflowers by the edge of the field.

But then it was worth looking up too.  There's not many autumn colours yet but here and there the season is coming.

misty morning walks

 15th September 2020, Longhorsley, 7am

Gorgeous autumn morning of mist and sunrise

The dogs loved the dewy grass...

15th September 2020, Bamburgh, 1pm

On today's guided walk we scrambled over the dunes, hiked up the beach, climbed the rocks and explored the rugged Northumberland coast to reach one of my favourite viewpoints.

We were beaten to it.

Who wants to look at the sea anyway?

walking for a living

 11th September 2020, Embleton Bay, 10am

A really nice day for a breezy guided walk along Embleton Bay with a really nice bunch of folk.

It's a good way to earn a living.
