10th April 2019, Long Nanny, 6:30am

The sun had a lie-in
Cuddled in a blanket of cloud
Out on the horizon

We were there to see the second sunrise
As light spread over the dunes
Giving us long shadows
Across frozen grass

Surely the last frost of the season?
Skylarks now proclaim the spring
In crystal clear windless air
Promising peaceful tranquility
