Up and running

31st July 2016, Beadnell Bay, 6am

The terns have gone so me and Daisy were free to run up to the Long Nanny again.
We ended the run in the sea to cool off.

Missed me!

30th July 2016, Howick, 5pm

This shower missed us. Sheets of rain tinged with rainbow drifted out over the sea.

(The next one got us though...)

morning greeting

30th June 2016, Embleton Bay, 7am

Good morning sunshine. We were greeted by a lovely cool breeze.

Shoot into the sun? There's some say you shouldn't, I say do what you want to do.

catch up...

23rd July, at home 7am

Up at 7am and she was waiting for me in the hallway.

24th July, Newton Point, 8am

Nice and quiet this morning.

25th July, Newton Point, 5:30pm

A dog, a beach, and a blue, blue sky.  She wants to go for a paddle and I can't say I blame her.

28th July, Embleton Bay, 3:30pm

She wanted to come to the beach and wouldn't walk up the path to the point.
So we walked up the beach.
Then she wouldn't come up the steps to go back along the dunes.
So we walked back by the beach too.
Stubborn old hound

29th July, Newton Point, 6pm

I know some people don't like ragwort but Burnett moths do.

giraffe stick

21st July 2016, Newton Bay, 6am

6am is both cool and quiet.  Daisy had a game with her pal Floyd then padded along beside me sometimes chasing the ball, sometimes watching it roll into the sea.

I thought this stick's shadow resembled a giraffe

walking slow enough to see

20th July 2016, Embleton Bay, 7am

20th July 2016, Football Hole, 5pm

Things we might walk past... The lichen is here all year round but the burnet moth and the beautiful wild flowers are just here for a while...A nice by-product of being a photographer is that I notice little things as I walk past (so it takes me ages to get anywhere!)

I can't identify this tiny cranesbill in the dunes.

As we walked back I snapped Daisy in the long grass

usual time, usual place

19th July 2016, Embleton Bay, 6:30 am

Sunny beach awaits
A day for shorts and sandals
And toes in the sea

A beautiful morning down on Embleton Bay; already 22C (hot!) at 6:30am. This coble reports for fishing duty every day in his usual spot at the mouth of the burn. It just happens to also be scenically located across the bay from the castle...

19th July 2016, Newton Point, 9pm

It turned into a very hot, busy day.  26C inside and out.

By 9pm it had called down to 19C and was very quiet on the beach.  Just me, the dog and a billion sand fleas nibbling my ankles...

quiet early

18th July 2016, Embleton Bay, 6:30am

Nice and early is the only way to get a quiet beach at this time of year. We chased and dodged and played under interesting skies then we headed home leaving footprints and paw prints for the next person...

18th July 2016, Newton Point, 6pm

Very calm sea, not a breath of air, the clouds reflected on the smooth water.

Wind

15th July 2016, Beadnell Bay, 5pm

A little dog on a big empty beach...

She had the wind in her fur and there was something interesting on the wind

Thursday, 14 July 2016

sunny for a while

14th July 2016, Embleton Bay, 8am

A beautiful warm morning that lasted as long as we were on the beach before clouding over.  By then we didn't care.

12th July 2016, 10am, Seahouses

A PhotoWalk around the bustling Seahouses harbour. We kept away from the crowds a bit.
