One Wet Day, Two Sunny Days

24th June 2014, Howick, 9am

Andy's training course and we headed down to Howick.  It was drizzly so we sought out textures and things that looked good in the flat light.

Bright and sunny for Ian's training.  The sun was sparkling off the water of the Skaith

This "Bloody Cranesbill" was in the shadow of a fern.

26th June 2014, Low Newton, 8am

Another sunny day and Daisy took to the water to cool off.

Once she was damp she was more comfortable running around...

Daisies - two different kinds

18th June 2014, Newton Point 4pm

Today started chilly and I had a fleece on for this morning's Training Course on the beach. By this afternoon the sun was out and it was beautifully warm (19 C Oz readers).

Farnes trip

17th June 2014, Farne Islands, 6pm

I had an evening trip out to The Farnes with the North Northumberland Tourism Association. We headed off on a lumpy sea but eventually reached Longstone lighthouse in the fog. As we headed back in the fog lifted and the sun came out for our walk around Inner Farne being pecked by terns all the way...

40,000 pairs of puffins this year - is there a cuter bird?

Vicious, beautiful arctic terns.  Don't land on Inner Farne if you are afraid of birds - they will peck your head!

cool off

9th June 2014, Embleton Bay, 8am

Lots of dog-walkers on the beach at 8am this morning. Dogs and owners enjoying the warm sun. Daisy headed straight for the sea for a splash about to cool off...

big picture/small picture

3rd June 2014, Newton Point, 8am

The night's rain left the meadows glistening with water droplets and made me focus on the details in the landscape.

Meanwhile Daisy took in the big picture and scanned the horizon from her favourite spot.

old and new

1st June 2014, Newton Point, 8am

June came in with a warm wind. It was very pleasant wandering around the point while Daisy played with pals old and new.

2nd June 2014, Low Newton 7am

Not much sign of the rainy day that was forecast. Looking out over the Embletones the wee islands seemed to float somewhere between the sea and sky.
