Silver

25th October 2013, Home, 8:30am

Back home after a wet walk and a damp Daisy watches the world from her window.  From some angles, in black and white, she is indistinguishable from our old lurcher Trooper who was a beautiful silver hound.

26th October 2013, Embleton Bay, 8am

The day is strikingly grey Every shade of silver is here - beautiful in a monochrome way.

The rocks and spray in shades of grey
They teach me all I need to know
For once I fell under their spell
I knew I'd never get away

29th October 2013, Embleton Bay, 9am

Today's training course was in beautiful sun. I've photographed this beach hut many times but today the sun gave it a silver sheen - I couldn't decide which I angle I preferred so you've got both.

A conventional view along Embleton Bay

sundials

24th October 2013, Dunstanburgh 7:30am

Beautiful sunrise. I've been up this way so many times but it was nice to use first the grasses and then the birds in the photographs for a bit of a different angle.

By the time we walked back the sun was aligned with the windows on the tower. This happens every October and March.

back to the woods

22nd October 2013, nr Christon Bank. 9am

We had an early walk on the beach and then a wander through the woods on our way home. The autumn colours are developing nicely. Still a lot of green around though.

rises and falls

19th October 2013, Embleton Bay. 8am

Back home from sunny Madeira to very grey autumnal days on the beach..

20th October 2013, Dunstanburgh, 8am

This is the time of year when the sun lines up with the castle tower as it rises (if you know where to stand)

21st October 2013, Low Newton. 8am

The cows and sheep are back on Newton Point and Newton Links so Low Newton beach becomes our favoured winter destination. Just a grey heron for company.

As the sun rose in the East, so the (nearly) full moon set in the West.

hello sun, see you again soon

6th October 2013, Embleton Bay. 7am

Down to the beach in time for sunrise (again). Not so many vapour trails this Sunday. It's my last morning walk with Daisy for a week while we head off on holiday.

It was a beautiful sunrise and I walked and watched while the orange shifted to blue.

Daisy will be on the beach every day while we're away. See you soon faithful hound.
