rock art

I wonder if this is the same person...They don't seem quite as perfect and they're built above high water this time. Nice job either way!

Today we have a section of dry stane dyke with a circle of balanced stones and a couple of outliers.

Early - but not that early. Several people out and about this morning but Daisy and I ignored the beach and headed across the golf course (which she prefers anyway).

Beautiful clouds so I was seeking a foreground to complement the scene (something that wasn't the castle!)

But the castle drew me in for this shot of the daisies on the shore.

back to the sea

Back to the sea from a trip inland for a few days and a nice training course with Jim this morning.

First, a man taking his dog for a row on a boat.

As the grey sky retreated the colours leapt out from the dunes.

...and as the blue skies took over, so the families arrived on the the beach.

peace camp

19th July12, Howick shore, 4pm

There is an event on this weekend at Dunstanburgh Castle called Peace Camp click here to read more.

It starts tonight and runs from dusk 'til dawn and involves light, landscapes and poetry. This is probably the worst photograph you'll see of Peace Camp as it will be very beautiful tonight when the tents are lit up.

Further South and the sea is eerily calm and beautifully patterned below Cullernose Point.

cooling off

A very nice walk along Howick shore path with bits of sun around.

The sun transforms the sandstone into a warm rich colour and against a blue sky it's truly beautiful.

Sometimes Daisy ignores her ball but today she was chasing in and out the sea with great gusto.

Two misty days

3rd July12, Embleton Bay, 9am

Day 1 of Judith's course found us on Embleton Bay. At first a sea mist blocked all views but this soon lifted to be replaced by a heavy rain shower. After the rain stopped the sun came out and the dampness evaporated from the rocks, sand and dunes as a mist

Back for another 'Cheviot Valleys' PhotoTrail with Val. We found beautiful light on the ferns in the woods...

...and interesting shots of moving water.

We don't come across to Holy Island as often as we should. It's a beautiful place - even when it's busy you can escape the crowds. We wandered around the shore then the harbour area.
