31st March 2021, Newton Point, 8am
Back on what used to be familiar ground.

24th March 2021, Alnmouth, 7am
We were here at 7am - Already an hour after sunrise.
There was still nice light out over the sea but the pebbles on the beach cast no shadows.
24th March 2021, Buston, 11am
A year ago lockdown started and I began exploring the local area on the bikes.
Today I was off back down the path to the beach with the perfume of gorse in my ears and the sun on my back (I also had the wind in my face but never mind)
20th March 2021, Embleton Bay, 9am
Lucy's first day of retirement and it was a beautiful morning. We had time to sit by the sea soaking up the sun, time to let the dogs play in the water and time to chat (socially distanced) with friends we've not seen for months.
18th March 2021, Amble, 3pm
Walkies on the beach followed by fish n chips and another quick walk round the pier on a beautiful afternoon.
16th March 2021, Alnmouth, 8am
It’s a beach but it’s not the sea
Looking over the river to the sea in the distance
All the shades of silver this morning
13th March 2021, Warkworth, 9am
The beach is different every day and today it was all about huge rafts of small pieces of driftwood. I've not seen so much driftwood before.
10th March 2021, Warkworth, 8am
A view of the beach from a higher place. There are times in all our lives when we have to leave the security of the sand and wade through choppy waves until we reach the calm water where we can find peace.
This post is dedicated to the memory of Jill Racenis who, alongside her husband Rob, loved Northumberland and was a regular visitor to this blog when she wasn't here in person.
10th March 2021, Alnmouth, 4pm
My attempts at being arty were photobombed by a curious Daisy.
9th March 2021, Alnmouth, 8am
Very quiet.
It took a while for this morning's atmosphere to sink in so that I could find a photograph this morning.
9th March 2021, Embleton Bay, 1pm
A bit of work took me up to Embleton today so I took the chance for a run along my old stamping grounds. It was lovely to see the bay after so many months.
7th March 2021, Rothbury, 9am
The Rothbury moors are full of beautiful nature like these bracket fungus and moss
