Up in time for sunrise this morning. In fact I had a lie in as I woke at 5 but lazed in bed until 20 past...!
Before the dawn and the beach was semi-dark as the sun waited its turn.

First thing in the morning the gulls fly up and mooch about seeing what's what

Almost 90 degrees to the sunrise and the sky is more subtle but equally beautiful in this direction too

A favourite pre-sunrise moment of mine when the clouds have glowing edges like embers on a fire.

From behind a cloud the sun lights up the sea. The sea has such a beautiful texture that it's worth a photograph all of its own.

The sun popped out between the clouds making the light on the sea that bit harsher so I included a wee bit of sky in this one.
