Must be Christmas

30th November 2019, Simonside, 9am

Not by the sea but you can see the sea...

A gorgeous, clear and frosty morning.

This tree is decorated every Christmas by a family in memory of their son.  They had just finished as we walked up to the tree...

Friday 29 November 2019

variety...

29th November 2019, Alnmouth, 8am

Any hints of sunrise colour were quickly hidden by the next rain cloud. The result was a constantly changing view as we walked along.

On a changeable morning like today you can't take your eyes off the sky for a minute for fear of missing some passing dramatic light. Sunrise was a non-event but eventually the sun appeared above the clouds and the seascape was transformed. The rolling waves that had been grey a few seconds before were backlit and the spray glowed in the morning sun. Just a few minutes later and the next cloud rolled in and the sea returned to grey.

Wednesday 27 November 2019

grey but no fog

27th December 2019, Howick, 8am

The grey weather continues but at least the coast is free of the thick fog further inland.

26th November 2019, Bamburgh, 10am

The grey weather continues...

Friday 22 November 2019

grey and wet

dawn trees

19th November 2019, Longhorsley, 7am

Pre-dawn skies promise another nice day.

from dawn to dusk

18th November 2019, Felton, 7:30am

A new path on a lovely frosty morning.  We walked for 6 km through autumn leaves while Daisy watched out for squirrels.  There were plenty but sadly all grey.

Sunday 17 November 2019

shiny

15th November 2019, Beadnell Bay, 10am

A fine, if showery,  guided walk up and back down Beadnell Bay with HPB guests.

Daisy came along too to enjoy the shiny beach.

Thursday 14 November 2019

posing three

14th November 2019, Newton Point, 9am

Utter joy to return to one of my favourite walks despite it being literally freezing and more than a bit fresh in the wind.

Showers passed north and south of us giving dramatic scenes.

Meanwhile we stayed dry and I attempted to get the 3 hounds to pose nicely (with various degrees of success)...

Wednesday 13 November 2019

all the gang

13th November 2019, Alnmouth, 7:30asm

No sunrise due to a bank of cloud but the sun soon rose again illuminating the clouds on the way

The furry family

Monday 11 November 2019

don't move

11th November 2019, Embleton bay 10am

A very pleasant 1:1 photo training session today.

Interesting patterns of sand & water beneath our feet and lovely clouds above our heads.

Two very different shots from the same location and with same lens.

...and from a bit further along the beach

always beautiful

8th November 2019, Embleton Bay, 8am

A bit chilly, a bit damp, a bit grey but always a beautiful place to be.

9th November 2019, Longhorsley, 1pm

Finally a gap in the rain and a lovely autumn walk with the furry family

10th November 2019, Longhorsley, 7:30am

It's complicated

6th November 2019, Alnmouth, 7am

A complicated sky hiding the sunrise.
