This flat fish is (or was) a small Flounder. He's normally well disguised lying on the seabed with a bit of sand over him.
Look closely, there's a ladybird in the hole.

flat fish
A fantastic evening on the beach. Lots of interesting things to look at. The tide was right out leaving interesting rocks, pools and sand bars exposed.
