sand and sandstone

 6th April, Warkworth, 8am

The sandstone headland of Billing Carrs has revealed some of its structure that's been lying beneath the sand.

This honey coloured sandstone has had water trickling through the rock and over the millennia minerals have formed symmetrical patterns around the water courses (now cracks).

Further up the beach the sand is washed with purple dust.  I think it's mussel shells crushed up and floated ashore on the high tide.

The wide view was nice too.
