A piece of history we walked past this morning. Soon the EiiR ones (ER in Scotland) will be part of history too and eventually beyond living memory like this one. 

 I wonder if there will ever be any CiiiR ones made?

stop the clocks

 7th September 2022, Warkworth, 5pm

I set off for a run but it was so beautiful I had to stop the clock and sit for a while.

high and dry

 6th September 2022, Simonside, 1pm

First time I've run up here.  It was tough in places but a lot of fun and worth it for the views.

not too late

3rd September 2022, Warkworth, 7am

Back down to sea level and nearly an hour too late for sunrise but there was still plenty of colour in the sky as the sun's arrival had been delayed by cloud at the horizon. 

No matter how beautiful the sunrise, a photograph needs some sort of foreground to add story and context. Here the silhouetted ferns and the waves provide two different settings for the colours of the sky. 

 The gentle texture of the light on the sea is also an important element to me in these two photos.

 

first chill of autumn

The first chilly bite of misty autumn this morning.

Now the day is properly warm but it was lovely and cool up on the hill.

 1st September 2022, Embleton Bay, 10am

An odd sort of a morning as the sea fret rolled in but almost immediately burned away again. 

The castle disappeared from view for a few minutes then slowly revealed itself as the mist unfurled.

quick sand

 31st August 2022, Bamburgh/Budle, 11am

A very nice run up and round Budle Bay.  The sand is a bit soft in places but it's a lovely route.
