reflecting

15th November 2017, Embleton Bay, 7:30am

Laden down with more gear than normal for a Special Project (see below) but still travelling light compared to most photographers.

Here's a few minutes of peace courtesy of a Northumberland Soundscape from this morning.  Notice the sundog in the clouds above the castle.  Not many birds here so this Soundscape is all waves.

...And here's a Soundscape at Newton Pool. I love the gentle sounds of the Teal which have just arrived for the winter. Also Mallard, Greylag Geese and a single silent Shelduck. Daisy was very good but she did pad around the hide a couple of times (as you'll hear)!

I can see your house from here

14th November 2017, Embleton Bay, 7:30am

At last the wind has dropped.  It's been relentlessly breezy for weeks.  I love the fresh air but it doesn't need to be forced in your face!

Looking East

Looking up.

She likes to stop on the stile for a good look around.  I think she would stand here forever.

a wider view

11th November 2017, Embleton Bay, 8am

A wide view was required for the waves this morning

11th November 2017, Newton Pool, 4pm

These beautiful Whooper swans have arrived (from Iceland) at Newton Pool along with the Greylag geese that have been here a while.

another day...

10th November 2017, Embleton Bay, 7am

Another day, another sunrise.  I tried to find a different angle by looking at the waves as they broke on the beach in the first light of morning.

sky writing

9th November 2017, Embleton Bay, 7:30am

Just in time for a sunrise of many layers of cloud.

As we walked back along the beach the sky was filled with the sight and sound of geese.

It's rare for us to be out at sunset...
