Just before sunrise, on my way to the dunes and the high clouds are painted with light and colour. 

Later, down on the beach, I will always appreciate these moments of Northumbrian solitude and beauty.

Fifteen minutes til sunrise and the sky has got the best colour.  It's often the way.

The sun allowed the colourful sky and stormy sea to take centre stage until she eventually appeared quietly from the wings from behind a shapely cloud.

The coast and its environs were all frozen but the spring tide had defrosted the actual beach.

Heavy snow meant we didn't venture far from the house.

The first sunrise of 2026 didn't look promising but turned out Ok in the end.
