rains come

29th May 25, Morpeth, 7:30am

After 5 weeks of dry weather, the recent rain has greened up the woods nicely.

 29th May 25, Rothbury, 10am

Springtime things - fern fronds unfurl and rain and wind brings some of the brand new leaves down to earth.

May-bright

 28th May 25, Longhorsley, 7pm

An evening wander around the May-bright wild flowers of the community woodland and the old parish church.

looking east

 27th May 25, Bamburgh, 4pm

It seemed to rain north south east and west of Bamburgh Castle today but it stayed dry for me and the wedding I was photographing.

26th May 25, Alnmouth, 10am

Henry photobombed my arty composition.  I didn't mind really!

a morning of many colours

25th May 25, Newton Point, 7:30am

The wild flowers on newton pOint aren't quite in their full glory yet but there was plenty to see.

A nice patch of white campion. Not as common as its red/pink cousin.

Lots of colours on the coast today; clover, lichen, trefoil, thrift under blue, blue skies on a bright breezy morning.

The rhoddies are out and Henry was impressed!

mist to sun

 17th May 25, Craster, 9am

On a 1:1 Northumberland Photo Training session this morning.

After a misty start of ropey weather round the harbour, the sun came out as we wandered up towards the castle...

wild (garlic) in the woods

 15th May 25, Morpeth, 7:30am

Such a perfect place to run.  Henry came too.

summer-like spring

 12th May 25, 3pm, Longhorsley

Beautiful backlit bluebells.

It's like summer but with bluebells in full spring bloom.

running here and there

 7th May 25, Howick, 6pm

Post-work jog down and up the Howick shore.

8th May 25, Shilbottle, 7:30am

The old mine railway is getting overgrown in places now which makes for wet feet on a dewy morning and the grass covers tricky ruts and rabbit holes.  Soon will come the nettles and it'll be impassable so that's probably it for running here until the autumn.

fine and dry

 5th May 25, Rothbury, 1pm

Dry weather and bonny gorse continue to be the theme of this spring

 5th May 25, Shilbottle, 8pm

A nice walk finding the best part of the day

grand gorse

1st May 25, Newton Point, 11am

We're having a few days of warm weather and the gorse is loving it this year.

1st May 25, Morpeth, 7:30am

A lovely early morning run with Henry running past swathes of garlic and bluebells.
