After yesterday's brief summer, it was dreich and drizzly on the beach this morning. It felt more like February than June but unlike February, there are colourful flowers to brighten the place up.

After 5 weeks of dry weather, the recent rain has greened up the woods nicely.
Springtime things - fern fronds unfurl and rain and wind brings some of the brand new leaves down to earth.

An evening wander around the May-bright wild flowers of the community woodland and the old parish church.

It seemed to rain north south east and west of Bamburgh Castle today but it stayed dry for me and the wedding I was photographing.

The wild flowers on newton pOint aren't quite in their full glory yet but there was plenty to see.
A nice patch of white campion. Not as common as its red/pink cousin.
Lots of colours on the coast today; clover, lichen, trefoil, thrift under blue, blue skies on a bright breezy morning.

After a misty start of ropey weather round the harbour, the sun came out as we wandered up towards the castle...
