mizzly

 27th Dec 25, Rothbury

A bit dreich with the hills enveloped in misty drizzle.

colourful day?

 19th Dec 25, Bamburgh Castle, 11am

The shadow of the castle across the beach

20th Dec 25, Longhorsley

The first one is a bw version of a sunny scene.  The 2nd one is a colour image of a monochrome day.

chilling out

16th Dec 25, Bamburgh Castle

A beautiful, if chilly day at the castle.

Saturday, 13 December 2025

blue day

 13th Dec 25, Hauxley,  10am

A lovely wintry blue sky/blue sea kind of a day

Tuesday, 9 December 2025

changes

9th December 25, Bamburgh Castle, 3:30pm

Beautiful changing light as the storm clouds passed and the sun set.

sleeping it off

5th December 25, Bamburgh, 10am

After a soggy night, the morning was brightening.

6th December 25, Rothbury, 10am

The puppy is now 10 weeks so another couple of weeks before she can join us on walks.

It was nice to be back to one of our favourite places while she slept off a playful morning.

east and west

 2nd December 25, Bamburgh, 3pm

Late afternoon light looking west across the fields...

...and east to the moon above Inner Farne

blue between the rain

 17th Nov 25, Warkworth, 9am

Beautiful and blue but only between the heavy rain showers coming in off the sea.

17th Nov 25, on the road, 5pm

I had to pull over and snap the sunset road.

Tuesday, 11 November 2025

wrong shoes

 11th Nov 25, Shilbottle, 7:30am

Sunrise colours were shining across to the trees behind my house so I got the old shoes on and hurried round to the fields. Worth the wet feet (poor choice of shoes!).

Monday, 10 November 2025

fallen leaves

 10th Nov 25, Morpeth, 8am

Lots of leaves are off the trees now but a sudden sunbeam shone through some splashes of colour.

autumn in two different places

 6th Nov 25, Morpeth, 7:30am

Trying to find a different angle on this grand autumn.

6th November 25, Cragside, 2pm

Up by the flume is one of my favourite spots - especially in the autumn.

Tuesday, 4 November 2025

more seasonal colours

4th Nov 25, Morpeth, 8am

What a beautiful autumn it is.

One of nature's simple pleasures and I can't get enough of it.

Even running in the rain is a pleasure when it's through autumn woodland.

1st Nov 25, Rothbury, 11am

Sunday, 2 November 2025

on sunny beaches

 2nd November 25, Warkworth, 8am

A beautiful bright morning after the clouds at sunrise cleared away.

Thursday, 30 October 2025

people in the right place

 30th Oct 25, Morpeth, 8am

People can add to a landscape.

I think the people give the composition a focus and draw the eye into the photograph. They also bring a touch of life and narrative.

back on my feet

28th October 25, Howick, 4:30pm

After the first 4pm finish of the season, it was nice to get back to running (in my new shoes) with a few Km's at Howick.

It was starting to get dark from the east but the sunset at the western horizon was lighting up the bathing house.

still autumn

 26th Oct 25, Rothbury, 9am

For me, the clocks going back means getting up an hour earlier (as opposed to getting an hour more in bed which seems a more popular option!).

The autumn leaves have survived the recent storm and I'm looking forward to even more colours as colder weather bites.
