quick sand

 31st August 2022, Bamburgh/Budle, 11am

A very nice run up and round Budle Bay.  The sand is a bit soft in places but it's a lovely route.

colder

 30th August 2022, Warkworth, 4pm

Resting my feet by the bonny blue sea.

First time in long trousers for a long time...

Harvest done, on to the ploughing...

colour changes

 26th August 2022, Embleton Bay, 6am

Here just before sunrise at 5:59am.

I walked a bit and sat with my cup of coffee and watched the light and colour change.

back where I belong

 25th August 2022, Warkworth, 4pm

After a few days away up north I'm back on the sand and by the sea I know best.

Monday, 15 August 2022

leaf watching

 15th August 2022, Newton, 9am

Unseasonal leaf colours caused by drought-induced premature autumn?

seeking shade

 14th August 2022, St Oswald's Way, 9am

Seeking coolness where the river flows through the woods.

special effects

 12th August 2022, Hauxley, 6pm

The fret was in but it was dramatically patchy and included a mist-bow at one point.

After a chippy tea the colours were spectacular through the mist as the sun dropped to the horizon.

13th August 2022, Longhorsley, 6pm

Inland the sun was still bright and warm into the evening...

Wednesday, 10 August 2022

down one way and up another

 10th August 2022, Embleton Bay, 10am

In the dunes waiting for a family photo session to start...

10th August 2022, Warkworth, 7am

An early run to avoid the heat of the day.

Past shining harebells I ran, always under blue skies.  Down one sandy path to the beach and back up another to head for home.

barley antics

 7th August 2022, Longhorsley, 7pm

Late evening antics at the edge of the barley field...

9th August 2022, Buston, 4pm

Up in the dunes it was red hot under the sun but down there on the beach was cool and breezy.

Friday, 5 August 2022

so blue

 5th August 2022, Alnmouth, 9am

Lovely colours this morning.  Who'd want to be anywhere else?

5th August 2022, Bamburgh Castle, 3pm

High on the ramparts of Bamburgh Castle looking over the fields to distant Dunstanburgh Castle and the coast guard lookout cottage at Newton.

changing weather

 4th August 2022, Shilbottle to Boulmer, 9am

A very wet cycle that ended in sunny woods on the way back up to the village.

4th August 2022, Buston, 4pm

Back down to the coast on foot for an afternoon wander.  Much nicer weather.

Wednesday, 3 August 2022

up and down

3rd August 2022, Warkworth, 9am

I was watching the sun come and go as I walked by the edge of the sea.

In bright moments I looked to the sky

When the clouds covered the sun I looked to the beach.
